A SMALL company is looking for investors interested in developing a humane method of killing crustaceans for human consumption.

Current methods of cooking and processing crustaceans involve drowning, boiling, basting, dissecting or frying live lobsters, crayfish or crabs.

Apart from its perceived cruelty, this method has drawbacks in the shedding of claws and legs, resulting in a 'jigsaw' of a meal being served up in restaurants across the world, says business development director for Pax, John Allies.
