Seafish has received several enquiries about Skagen vented doors and their ability to reduce door spread through opening and closing their vents.
The questions reflected some confusion on an appropriate combination of the vent openings and their effect on the spread and drag of these doors.
To answer these and other questions, an accurate pair of model Skagen vented doors was made and tested in the controlled environment of the Seafish flume tank in Hull.
