HULL video maker Dovedale Studio has produced a film that tells the story of one of the most famous names in the British fishing industry - The Boston Deep Sea Fishing and Ice Company.

'Bostons' as it was familiarly known to thousands of fishermen in Hull, Grimsby, Fleetwood and Lowestoft for around the century or so of its existence took its name from the Lincolnshire town where it was set up in 1885.

The video - the seventh in Dovedale Studio's historical 'Distant Grounds' series - tells the story of Boston's early days in the 19th century through to the mid 1970s when 200 mile limits, rocketing fuel costs and entry into the then EEC spelled the beginning of the end for so much of the British fishing industry.
