JOSEPH S WD 166: With an LOA of 132ft, the dual-purpose twin-rig/beam trawler Joseph S was the biggest vessel scrapped under Ireland’s 2008 decommissioning scheme. Joseph S arrived in Ireland from Holland in 1998 after being bought from Urk as Willy UK-153 by Alex Scallon of Wexford. Joseph S was fitted out at Stellendam by Maaskant in 1990 for Lub van Slooten and his son Pieter Louwe (Orion BV) of Urk as Willy, after the steel hull had been built in Gdynia, Poland.
