A UK company is selling an Australian-made rope cutter for clearing fouled propellers that is being fitted to RNLI Tamar class lifeboats.

QuicKutter is sold in the UK by Plymouth firm H4 Marine.

The company's Neil Young says the device has been selling in increasing numbers since its launch in the UK two years ago. Lyme Boats, which builds fast fishing and angling boats, is fitting QuicKutters as standard, he says.

Neil Young tells FN: "When this idea was first developed in Australia, the first boats to fit them were tuna liners.
