Lofoten Islands, Norway, Aug 29 - The Norwegian Pollution Control Authority has now requested the removal of the sunken Gudrun Gisladottir and 900 tonnes of frozen herring by Oct 15. Removal of the vessel's 300 tonnes of diesel oil was requested at an earlier stage. The Chinese-built 71.3 metre Icelandic pelagic factory trawler Gudrun Gisladottir sank in late June after hitting a rock while entering port in the Lofoten Islands. She is lying in about 40 metres of water.
