Good weather allowed Filipino fishermen to increase their catch and boost the country’s fisheries output in the first quarter by 1.16 percent year-on-year, according to the latest report by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

Overall production, including aquaculture, reached more than 1 million metric tons in the quarter, reports Business Mirror.

During the three-month period, the output of commercial fisheries amounted to 220,259 metric tons, 2.5 percent higher compared to the 214,892 metric tons posted a year ago, according to the PSA.
