A FORMER Dutch pelagic trawler has become the largest vessel in the UK fleet.
The 114 metre freezertrawler Cornelis Vrolijk Fzn (SCH 171) has been flagged to the UK register and will fish from the English port of Hull.
She will be operated in the UK by North Atlantic Fishing Company, a subsidiary of Dutch company Cornelis Vrolijk Holding (CVH).
She will join Atlantic Princess (H 90), also operated by North Atlantic, and replaces Westella H 108, which is now laid up.
Cornelis Vrolijk Fzn was built for CVH in 1988 at the Ysselwerf Shipyard in Rotterdam and underwent a refit and modernisation at Shipdock, Amsterdam, between November 2002 and March 2003.
