FRASERBURGH'S wide range of service and repair companies and its modern shiplift are attracting a succession of Faroese vessels for major modernisation work, writes DAVID LINKIE.
The wooden hulled former trawler Joguan-S arrived in Fraserburgh early last month and has now returned to Faroe after being extensively modernised, fitted with new engines, converted to long lining/netting and renamed Gudrun.
Shipwrights Buchan Hall and Mitchell were the main contractors for the work. They completed extensive work on the deck and hull, fitted a new fishroom and two x one berth and two x two berth cabins forward.
