Skipper James Buchan's new trawler is the fourth boat to be named Opportunus since his late father John Buchan bought the 77ft seine netter Star of Bethlehem PD 96 from Peterhead skipper George Forman in 1984.
This boat was built at Buckie by Herd & MacKenzie in 1968 as Ajax INS 168 for Lossiemouth skipper William Campbell before being sold to Peterhead to be renamed first Harvest Hope and then Star of Bethlehem.
Opportunus II arrived in 1995 as the 74ft Copious BCK 237 built by Herd & MacKenzie in 1975 for Portsoy skipper William MacKay.
