Fraserburgh brothers William and Andrew Whyte have started fishing for mackerel with their impressive new 56m purse-seiner/mid-water trawler Forever Grateful FR 249.
Rigged for mid-water trawling and purse netting, Forever Grateful will mainly be used for targeting mackerel and herring, landing into a variety of outlets in Scotland, Shetland, Norway and Denmark, depending on market requirements.
Exploratory trips for non-quota species are also a possibility for future years.
While the boat was berthed at Fraserburgh to take aboard fishing gear, a stream of well-wishers expressed favourable comments on the high level of finish and specification of the vessel.
