A FATHER and son team took the top two prizes at Brixham trawler race this year, reports Phil Lockley.
Skipper Peter Boyce brought local beam trawler Christina over the line in first place, followed by his father Skipper Chris Boyce acting as skipper aboard the visiting Dutch beamer Nooderhaaks, entered in the race by Maaskant Shipyard and Westcoating ship brokers.
Third place in Group I went to Skipper Geoff Cudd on the beam trawler Lady Maureen.
The Brixham trawler race committee said that all finishing times "were very close this year" –reflecting the accuracy of the modern electronics aboard each boat that make seconds count.
