It’s fair to speculate on just how much attention will be devoted to fishing issues.
The feeling is that fishing is once again the poor relation and environment is the key brief.
Faced with a set of opponents with little love for the fishing industry and a murky agenda all of their own, anyone would imagine that it would be a full-time job sifting through the confusion, misinformation and bias to deal with the problems fisheries face.
But Vella will have to deal with saving the environment as well, and more than likely that’s where his focus will be.
