Specialist boat builder Swiftline Marine based at Colchester has delivered a new design of under10m catamaran to Hartlepool owner David Bruce, the Swiftcat.
He will be using the 9.6m Chloe Anne II for charter angling, although the design is equally suitable for commercial fishing and general workboat duties, as well as leisure purposes.
Swiftline wanted to create a unique concept of hull design that would satisfy three main criteria - style, economy and speed - without compromising strength and safety.
Swiftline Marine director Nick Rich says South Africa has been designing and building similar craft for decades and it was this knowledge that was drawn upon.
