"I’ve been fishing with these for three and a half years now,” he said, commenting that he would not now consider going back to using wire for the Harvest Reaper’s warps.
He said that he spoke to Rick Burch, an expat Englishman who fishes with the Nancy Glen in New Zealand and who was an early adopter of Dyneema, first for warps and then for practically everything else.
“We got an EFF grant to do it and it was a real step into the unknown when we set the ball rolling in 2010,” he said.
“After getting a few quotes, I went to Hampidjan as they seemed to have the experience.”
