PRAWNS, lobsters and brown and velvet crabs dominate the landings put ashore by some ten mainly under 10m inshore trawlers and creel boats based at Dunbar in SE Scotland.
Changing fishing patterns and higher operating costs have resulted in fewer vessels, both creel boats and inshore trawlers, working from the tidal harbour at Dunbar in recent years.
A few years ago a stronger fleet of prawn trawlers fished from Dunbar, which a couple of decades ago still hosted a locally important whitefish fleet.
