A French company has launched a basic trawl monitoring system for smaller vessels.
Acelma's new DataNet system can work with up to four sensors to give trawl door spread information for display on screen in a trawler's wheelhouse.
Features of DataNet include saving data in digital form so that it can be replayed as required. The information is retained in sixhour sections, saved to a computer's hard drive.
DataNet complements the firm's GeoNet trawl monitoring system (see box right).
