IRISH Government ministers promised to implement a plan to develop the Arramara Teoranta seaweed processing company and sell its Meenmore plant in Dungloe, Co Donegal, which was recently closed by Marine Minister Frank Fahey, reports John Rafferty.

A quick sale for the Meenmore plant would mean that seaweed production could be restored as soon as possible under private ownership.

The announcement by Mr Fahey on the 25 June to the media on the closure of the plant was met with an angry response from staff and 500 cutters at the Meenmore plant.
