Having purchased the Cygnus Marine GM 32 mould, the Cornish firm, Gaffers & Luggers, Tregartreath Boat Yard at Mylor near Falmouth reports “considerable interest” from potential buyers – one GM 32 being built for Newquay fisherman Martin Gilbert is nearing completion.

Boatyard boss Martin Heard heads a staff of seven and the yard carries out all types of boat building – traditional wooden working boats, steel and GRP.

The yard was established in 1962 by Martin Heard’s father, Terry. The main slipway can take vessels of more than 60t and is presently occupied by a sizeable commercial diving boat.
