The 38ft Stella Maris of Newquay CY 192, built by C Toms & Son of Polruan in 1984, has been bought by Jack Baker of Millbrook, near Torpoint, marking a return of the netter/potter to the county where she was built, writes Martin Johns.
The vessel was bought by Mr Baker to replace his 28ft Dixon-built netter, Arandora Star E 44.
On their delivery trip, the new crew of Stella Maris of Newquay endured a prolonged steam down the west coast to Cornwall from the Outer Hebrides, during which they encountered gale after gale.
