Workers of Peruvian fishing companies Copeinca, Hayduk and China Fishery Group (CFG) are holding a 48-hour strike action claiming unpaid amounts corresponding to the last fishing season, reports Chimbote en Linea.

The striking workers are demanding meetings with the companies’ management to discuss their claims.

“This is the beginning of our fight,” said Felipe Gaspar, director of the National Union of Copeinca workers. "They have taken advantage of the natural disaster and paid us ridiculous amounts last month, without having explained the reasons."
