This was the second time that Gap2 brought fishermen from both sides of the Channel together to talk about scallops.
Last year a meeting was held in the UK port of Brixham and while it was friendly and positive, there was an undercurrent of uncertainty that wasn’t there at the gathering at Port-en-Bessin in Normandy.
This time things felt a touch more intimate, as if the ice had been successfully broken the first time around, a level of trust had been established and now it was time to get down to hard tacks.
