An active boat market in Ireland has seen the recent arrival of several modern vessels from other European countries.

One of the most interesting is the 24.4m French built trawler Maria Magdalena III G 482. Equipped for triple rig trawling, the Rossaveal/Galway based Maria Magdalena III was bought from Boulogne by Bartley Hernon with Stephen and Tommy Conneely of Galway to replace their previous smaller trawlers Annandale and Warren Lock.

Built in 1989 and powered by a 454kW Mitsubishi engine, Maria Magdalena III has a registered length of 21.5m,
