THE Klaksvik-based electronics supplier Contrive has expanded into fishing gear and new vessels by representing Icelandic longline systems manufacturer Beitir and boatbuilder Trefjar.
"The company started in 1965 with Decca, then we took on Furuno as well, " Contrive's Julius Poulsen says.
"Now we are agents for Furuno, Litton Marine, Scanmar, Simrad, Sailor and other companies for the northern part of the Faroes.
"We are selling ships' electronics of every kind: sounders, radars, GPS, communications equipment and plotters. MaxSea is very popular in the Faroes, " he adds.
