The formation announced last week of Millers St Monans Ltd ensures the welcome continuation of boatbuilding and vessel maintenance/repair in the East Neuk of Fife after 12 months of uncertainty when Miller (Methil) Ltd went into liquidation last year.
Millers St Monans has been established by Willie Meldrum and Robin Briggs of Briggs Marine Ltd.
This link up renews a longstanding successful working relationship between the two local men, which encompasses building five boats at Eyemouth for Briggs Marine.
Willie Meldrum, managing director of Millers St Monans, is widely known and highly respected throughout the Scottish fishing industry for successfully building up Coastal Marine Boatbuilders Ltd at Eyemouth before selling the Berwickshire company four years ago.
