The recent dominant trend has been the movement of boats between Scotland and Ireland. One of the first transactions involved the trawler Crimson Arrow IV N 128, which has moved to Mallaig from Portavogie after being bought by Skipper Thomas McLean from Albert Graham.
Rigged for scalloping and trawling, the 55ft Crimson Arrow IV (ex-Maureen) was built at Fraserburgh in 1963 and is powered by a 223kW Volvo Penta engine.
The former Union Hallbased trawler Aquarius SO 922 is now fishing from NE England, having been bought by Amble Skipper Alan Gair from Shaun Perkinson.
