Beam trawlers have dominated boat sales recently, especially in south west England, including Brixham.
After purchasing 37.75m beam trawler St Lucia P 225 last year and renaming the 17 year old Damen-built vessel Joy of Ladram J 225, Robin Carter of Waterdance purchased the beamer/scalloper Arcomine BM 247 from Adrian Strike and Mark Bailles.
Built in the Netherlands in 1963 and powered by a Cummins engine, the 31m Arcomine has joined a growing number of beamers laid up in Brixham as licensing requirements continue to result in further fleet downsizing.
