Unusually, beam trawlers have dominated what reduced activity there has been. At Penzance, Sid Thomas and his son Stuart have bought the under 12 metre beamer/trawler/scalloper Twin B FD 407 from Brixham.
Built at Polruan by C Toms and Sons in 1997 as Twin B for Brian Bond of Fleetwood and powered by a 296hp Cummins engine, the versatile steel hulled inshore boat has now been renamed Katie Claire PZ 87 after the first born daughters of the owners.
