SOUTH Africa's GRP-hulled fishing vessel moulder Tallie Marine of St. Helena Bay has launched four identical 57 ft.

purse seiners for the Angolan government, with a fifth being completed this month.

Each boat - built at a cost of R1.1 million ($180,000) - has been designed to catch about 7000 tons of fish a year operating out of Namibe, a port on Angola's south coast.

According to Anton Tallie, the yard's founder, their main catch will be pilchards.
