AN INQUEST at Hull into the death of a Bridlington fisherman who fell overboard in December last year found that his death was an accident.
Richard Ransom (28) of Bridlington fell overboard from the 16m potter Onward Star at 6.05pm on 7 December as he was throwing a two stone tyre fender over the side as the vessel approached at Bridlington harbour.
Skipper Michael Sayer said that he and his crew did not hear Mr Ransom fall overboard and would not have heard any calls for help due to the engine noise.
