MACDUFF Shipyards handed over new wooden and steel trawlers to their respective owners last week, reports David Linkie.

A few days after Portree skipper James Corrigall left Macduff on Monday with the 11.95m Iris II BRD 19 for Portree, the new Fraserburgh 18.6m twin rig trawler Uberous FR 50 completed trials in the Moray Firth before steaming to the Broch to box and store before Skipper Ian Duthie's first trip to the North Sea grounds.

Skipper James Corrigall and Tommy Corrigall took the under 12m wooden hulled prawn trawler Iris II to Portree from Macduff to Skye via the Pentland Firth, a trip of 220 miles.
