Whalsay Skipper Bobby Sandison and partners are now fishing with their new trawler Arcturus (LK 59), which has been built by Coastal Marine Boatbuilders Ltd, of Eyemouth, to a new design developed by Macduff Ship Design Ltd.
The main dimensions of the Arcturus are LOA 26m, reg length 23.99m, beam 8.2m and moulded depth 4.4m. Below the waterline Arcturus's hull features a semi-bulbous bow, which has become one of the trademarks of Macduff Ship Design vessels, and bulbous skeg sections forward of the propeller aperture.
