PACIFIC BLUEFIN tuna caught off the Japanese port of Oma by oneman, one-hook, hand line fishing boats, or Ippon zuri, fetches some of the highest prices on the sushi and sashimi market.

On January 5, 2001, a 444 lb. (202 kg. ) Pacific bluefin tuna sold at Tokyo's Tsukiji fish market auction for $173,000 ($391 per pound) making it the most expensive single fish transaction ever recorded.

FNI's Hillel Wright visits Oma's annual Tuna Festival to find out about this unique method of tuna fishing which sees one-man boats landing tunas almost as big as the vessels.
