TWO NEW multipurpose shellfish boats were blessed by the local vicar at Leighon-Sea in Essex last Sunday.
Abbie Lou and Boy Michael are for owners Mason West of W H Osborne and Steve and Michael Meddle of SMS Seafoods respectively.
Hulls and steelwork for both boats were built by Offshore Steel Boats of Barton-on-Humber and they are rigged for cockle suction dredging and other shellfishing.
Both boats are under10m and are virtually identical, with a beam of 4.7m and shallow drafts of just 1.2m
