Alternative-protein investor Agronomics is the latest to plough $5 million (€4.2 million) into Nutreco-backed cell-based seafood firm BlueNalu.

Jim Mellon, a non-executive director with Agronomics, was also granted the right to attend BlueNalu board meetings as an observer.

LSE-listed Agronomics will pay for the subscribed convertible note -- which is short-term debt that converts into equity -- with existing cash resources.

Agronomics owns 192,005 shares in BlueNalu worth £2.7
