Dutch seafood investment fund Aqua-Spark is on track to meet its long-term goal of making between 60 and 80 investments over the course of a decade, with a string of recent investments and more deals in the pipeline.

Aqua-Spark Co-founder Mike Velings told IntraFish the group first set the 10-year target in 2011, and after its first investment in 2015, it's set a pace that few other groups have matched in the aquaculture investment sphere.

In the short two and a half years, the company has filled out its investment portfolio with a range of projects: Chicoa Fish Farm in Mozambique, feed ingredients producer Calysta, Icelandic Atlantic charr producer Matorka, value-added seafood brand LoveTheWild, Madagascan sea cucumber producer Indian Ocean Trepang and Dutch insect-based feed developer Protix.
