Fish exporter Brodrene Sperre is acquiring 50.1 percent of fish processor Vikomar, through which it will gain a filleting factory -- part of a strategic investment to expand its exports of pelagic fish, in particular mackerel.  

While Inger-Marie Sperre, managing director at Brodrene Sperre, couldn't share how much the company paid for the acquisition, she said the company is in dire need of more volume.

When asked by IntraFish if Brodrene Sperre has the option to buy the rest of Vikomar's shares, she said that is an internal matter for the company to decide.
