Land-based salmon farmer Atlantic Sapphire was hit with major losses during the first half of the year, with suboptimal growing conditions continuing to affect its US operations.

The company’s posted a loss in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of $42.2 million (€35.9 million) during the first half of 2021, with its US operations accounting for 84 percent of that amount.
