US-based Gordon Food Service said Friday it is acquiring Toronto-based Macgregors Meat & Seafood Ltd, a leading supplier to foodservice, retail and private label customers across Canada.
Macgregors is one of Canada's oldest independent, family-owned suppliers.
The company's operations include production facilities, an innovation center and a retail store. Its brand partnerships include Certified Angus Beef, 44th Street, Niman Ranch and Jail Island Salmon, which is packed by Cooke Aquaculture subsidiary True North Seafood.
Gordon Food Service has operations in the Midwest, Northeast, Southeast, and Southwest regions of the United States and throughout Canada.
