The Chefs' Warehouse, a US-based distributor of specialty food products in North America, has acquired substantially all of the assets of M.F. Foley Company Inc., based in New Bedford, Massachusetts.

Founded in New York, The Chef's Warehouse serves a wide swath of the United States and Canada. The company is publicly listed on NASDAQ stock exchange.

Family-owned wholesaler Foley Fish states on its website that it sources the majority of its groundfish from boats fishing in the Georges Bank and the Gulf of Maine.

The Chefs' Warehouse carries and distributes more than 55,000 products to more than 34,000 customer locations throughout the United States and Canada.

The Chef's Warehouse posted a net loss of $82.9 million (€68.6 million) in 2020, a dramatic turnaround from a $24.4 million (€20.2 million) profit the year prior.

Sales, too, took a dramatic hit from COVID closures, falling 27 percent to just over $1.1 billion (€910 million).
