American private fund Broadbill, until now holder of 3.7 percent in old Pescanova, has become majority shareholder in the company, in a move that gives minority shareholders the opportunity to get some of their money back, reports La Informacion.

The private equity is increasing its stake in the old Pescanova in order to have bigger participation in the Nueva Pescanova, to which it was impossible to get access otherwise, according to minority shareholder Lorenzo Jose Ramet.

Although this will improve relationships between majority and minority shareholders, "there is still a long way to make these relationships work," Ramet said.
