Cell-cultured and plant-based seafood company Finless Foods said Monday it raised $34 million (€31.2 million) in a series B funding round led by Hanwha Solutions, a subsidiary of $60 billion (€55.1 billion) Korean giant Hanwha Global.

Finless CEO Michael Selden said the money will be used to construct a pilot facility where the company will produce its first scalable, commercial cell-cultured bluefin tuna. The facility is due to open in San Francisco sometime this year.

Michael Selden, CEO and co-founder of Finless Foods, said the company plans to complete a new production facility with the funding.
