Feed giants BioMar, Cargill, and Skretting are considered the most strategic potential buyers for Mowi’s feed division, according to M&A executives, as the Norwegian salmon farming giant continues its review of the business.
Mowi launched the strategic review in March, and CEO Ivan Vindheim told IntraFish it is expected to conclude before the end of the year.
One possible scenario could see BioMar pursue the acquisition as a bolt-on acquisition ahead of a potential listing of the combined entity, one M&A banker speaking on condition of anonymity told IntraFish.
