South America-based feed producer Vitapro said it is investing more than $2 million (€1.8 million) in a series of logistics improvements at its Nicovita plant in Guayas province, Ecuador.

The investment, which is designed to improve the traceability and efficiency of the company's shrimp feed supply chain, includes the adoption of advanced inventory management software.

The site, which produces Nicovita branded shrimp feed products, is also transitioning to a fleet of electric forklifts, with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions by 30 percent.
