Skretting, a major supplier of feed to the global aquaculture sector, plans to invest up to €15 million ($16.3 million) in its feed plant in Japan to strengthen the supply and quality of bespoke feed for recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS).
The investment follows the first trial harvest in Japan by land-based salmon farmer Proximar Seafood at the end of last month. The fish were produced at Proximar’s RAS facility near the foot of Mount Fuji, a project in which Skretting has long been involved as a strategic partner.
