Nicovita, a division of South America-based feed producer Vitapro, has opened its $80 million (€73 million) shrimp feed plant in Ecuador.
Plans for the facility were unveiled two years ago. The opening is expected to boost Nicovita's total production capacity by at least 40 percent.
The first production line at the plant began operations in April, and since then, the company has gradually ramped up production to have all six lines running at full capacity.
