Salmon fed on a diet enriched with krill showed stronger skin health and higher resilience to sea lice in a study initiated by Norwegian krill supplier Aker BioMarine and conducted by independent research bodies, a participant in the study told IntraFish.
The research, which included an 86-day feeding trial carried out in the first quarter of 2023 and was published on Aug. 27 this year in the Journal of Marine Science and Engineering, compared two separate, krill-enriched diets with a controlled diet designed to mirror typical commercial salmon feed.
