Norwegian krill harvester and processor Aker BioMarine warned the market that this year's harvesting season has yielded "significantly lower" volumes, and would drag down the group's sales and earnings.

The company's year-to-date offshore production volume of 38,500 metric tons is less than two-thirds of the company’s original ambition for the full year.

Harvesting has been slow in 2021 because of low krill availability in one fishing area and challenging ice conditions in August and September in another area, the company said.
