Peruvian fishmeal harvester and processor Exalmar has reached an agreement to purchase a rival producer in a deal that could lift revenues to more than $500 million (€453 million).

Exalmar announced April 9 it will acquire Pesquera Centinela from Peruvian conglomerate Grupo Romero. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Pesquera Centinela operates 11 fishing vessels that harvest anchovy, mackerel and jack mackerel in Peruvian waters. In addition, it owns three fishmeal and oil facilities in Chancay, Chimbote and Tambo de Mora, Peru.
