Irish based marine ingredients company, Bio-Marine Ingredients is in the preparatory stages for its biggest financing round to date.
The company produces specialty marine proteins, mineral and lipid powders and supplies them as ingredients for human nutrition, the pet market, the bio-fertilizer market as well as to the aquaculture sector across Europe, Asia and North America.
In aquaculture, Bio-Marine works with Nutreco-owned Skretting.
Since its formation in 2014, Bio-Marine has sourced almost exclusively from the blue whiting fishery, but is now working on broadening its raw material portfolio, exploring offcuts from salmon and whitefish, CEO Jason Whooley told IntraFish.
